Tools Menu
The Tools menu groups commands that manage file transfers to and from the Homer, Server type switching, and commands that reset the Homer to various predefined states. A reduced-functionality HomTool servicing variant of HomSoft adds commands for complete Homer firmware reinstallation and reprogramming of the stepper motors.
Send to Homer
Send (upload) configuration files, memory files, Server program files, or any other firmware files from your computer to a Homer unit. For details, see Transferring Files.
Load from Homer
Download files from a Homer unit to your computer. For details, see Transferring Files.
Update Server
A specialized command for uploading a Server executable program file from your computer to a Homer unit.
Switch Server
Terminate the Server currently running in the Homer and start a Server selected in the submenus of the Switch Server command. The available Servers are RS232, CAN, EtherNet/IP and Download.
Reset
The submenu items of the Reset menu allow users to set the Homer to predefined states, including factory (out-of-box) default and a user-defined state. The menu also enables users to create a user-defined state or, based on the current settings, create corresponding Hom.cfg and Tun.cfg configuration files. For details, see Homer Resets.
Waveform Sampling
Starts the automatic waveform determining procedure.
Reinstall
The Reinstall command starts complete Homer firmware reinstallation. The command is visible only in the reduced-functionality HomTool version of HomSoft.
Reprogram Motors
The command reprograms the parameters that controll the stepper motors, including the maximum tuning stub insertion depth. The command is visible only in the HomTool version of HomSoft.
Details of the reinstallation and motors reprogramming are described in section Homer Firmware Update/Reinstallation.
